Michael James

Mr. Michael James is the JMMB Bank (T &T) Limited representative on the IBF Council. Mr. James who is the Bank Treasurer at JMMB Bank is an achievement-oriented executive with diversified experience in the public and private sector. He possesses extensive experience in the field of commercial banking and have held the position of Treasurer of the local operating entity RBC Royal Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited, where he spearheaded the Bank’s activities in the areas of treasury and foreign exchange management. In addition, Mr. James has held senior positions at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago.  At the Ministry of Trade and Industry he led the Business Development Unit, where he guided the work of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals responsible for economic diversification., which involved the development and implementation of Strategic Plans for the clusters targeted for development in keeping with the Government’s diversification plan. While at the CBTT, his responsibilities focused on overseeing the work of the Investment Management, Research, Statistics and Foreign Exchange departments.

Mr. James is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the holder of a BSc. Economics and an Executive MBA.
